Questions and answers about parking
Here you will find answers about booking, payment, entry and exit, and parking at the airport.

Book parking
What is the difference between booking and drop-in?
With booking, you reserve and pay for parking online before you drive to the airport. You are guaranteed a spot in the parking area you have booked, and the price is usually lower than with drop-in.
With drop-in, you drive directly to a parking area without booking in advance. You pay the current drop-in rate for the time you are parked, and you are not guaranteed a spot in a specific parking area.
What is the difference between Standard and Flex?
The Standard option allows you to change or cancel the parking up to 24 hours after you have placed the booking. With Flex you can change or cancel the booking up to 2 hours before entry time.
Flex is the better option if you want greater flexibility in case your travel plans change.
How is the price calculated?
The price of parking varies depending on the airport, parking area, time, and how long you will park. Booking is usually cheaper than drop-in.
Booked parking is calculated in 24-hour periods. For example, 49–72 hours is counted as three days, while 73–96 hours is counted as four days. You will see the total price before you pay.
Drop-in parking is priced according to how long you actually remain parked.
How do I book parking?
Select the airport you are departing from, and tap Book parking in the menu or Find parking on the airport homepage. Then choose the time and parking area.
How far ahead of my trip can I book parking?
You can book parking no earlier than 180 days before, and no later than 2 hours before entry. If no available spaces are shown, you can try choosing a different time or parking area.
Am I guaranteed a spot when I book parking?
Yes, the parking operators reserve enough spaces for those who have booked. During periods of high demand, some parking areas may be closed off with a barrier that can only be passed by those with a valid booking.
Can I enter multiple license plate numbers in the booking?
No, you can only link one license plate number to each booking. If you have saved multiple cars in My Profile, you must choose the car you will use. Check that the license plate number is correct and matches the booking before you drive in.
Can I book multiple parking spots at the same time?
You can only have one active parking booking per license plate number. To book another concurrent parking, the booking must use a different license plate number. Remember to enter the correct license plate number when you place your order.
Can I drive in and out of the parking area multiple times?
No, a booking includes one entry and one exit. If you drive out of the parking area, the parking session is automatically ended.
If you drive in a second time, a new drop-in parking session will automatically start. Unused booked parking time will not be refunded.
Why does a booking require my personal information?
We need your contact information to complete the booking and send you the booking confirmation and important information. The license plate number is used to identify the vehicle upon entry and exit. The information is processed in accordance with Avinor’s privacy policy.
Payment, booking confirmation and receipt
How do I pay for parking?
For pre-booked parking, you pay online in the booking flow (Apple Pay or card). You will see the total price before you approve the purchase.

Tip: If you are already logged in to My profile when you place your order, you can choose to save your payment card with the parking provider for future bookings.

Change, cancellation, and refund
Can I change or cancel the parking?
Yes, you can change or cancel the parking depending on the booking type*:
- Standard: Can be changed or canceled within 24 hours after purchase.
- Flex: Can be changed or canceled up to 2 hours before parking.
Personal information (name, phone, email) and license plate number can always be changed right up until parking (applies to both Standard and Flex).
*Some promotions may have different terms - these are shown when you book.
How do I change or cancel the parking?
Log in to My Parking under My Profile, and find the booking you want to change or cancel.
If you booked without being logged in, you can use Change or cancel parking on the airport parking page. You will need the reference number and email address from the booking.
You will receive a confirmation by email when the change or cancellation has been completed.
What can I change in my booking?
Within the applicable deadline, you can change:
- license plate number
- name, phone number, and email address
- entry and exit time
- parking area
If you change the parking time or parking area, the total price may change. You will either pay any additional amount or receive a refund of the price difference. The changes you can make depend on whether you have chosen Standard or Flex.
Can I extend the booking after I have parked?
No, the booking cannot be extended once parking has started. If you park longer than what was included in the booking, the extra parking time will automatically be charged as a new drop-in parking at the current price rate.
You don't need to create a new booking for the extra time.
Will I get my money back if I cancel?
You will get your money back if you cancel within the applicable cancellation deadline:
- Standard: refundable within 24 hours after purchase
- Flex: refundable until 2 hours before parking
If you shorten the parking time within the applicable deadline, the price difference will be refunded to you. If you have parked but leave earlier than the pre-booked time, the unused time will not be refunded.
Refunds will be issues to card/account that was used to pay for the booking.
Entry and exit
How is the car registered upon entry and exit?
Cameras read the license plate when you drive in and out. The license plate links the car to the booking, so you don't need a physical ticket.
Check that the license plate in the booking is correct before parking.
What happens if the wrong license plate number was entered?
If the wrong license plate number was entered in the booking, the car will not be linked to the booking upon entry. Your parking may then be charged as a new drop-in parking. Refunds will not be granted for mis-typed license plate numbers.
If you discover a mis-typed license plate number in your booking, or if you enter with a different car than the one listed in the booking, contact your parking operator.
Can I drive in and out multiple times with the same booking?
No, the order applies to one entry and one exit. When you drive out, the parking session ends.
If you drive in again, a new drop-in parking session automatically starts. Any unused time in the original booking will not be refunded.
What happens if I arrive before the booked start time?
If you park before the booking starts, the extra time is automatically counted as a new drop-in parking session. The extra time is charged at the regular drop-in rate for the parking area, regardless of the reason you parked early.
You do not need to create a new booking for the extra time. If you realize you need to park earlier, you should consider changing your pre-booking before you park.
What happens if I run later than ordered?
If you are still parked when your reservation time expires, the extra time is automatically considered a new drop-in parking session. The extra time is charged at the regular drop-in price for the parking area, regardless of the reason for your delay.
You do not need to create a new reservation for the extra time. If you see that you may be delayed, you should consider changing your pre-booking before you park.
How do I pay for extra parking time?
If you are still parked when the reservation expires, the extra time is considered a new drop-in parking. The time you have already paid for will not be charged again.
How you pay for the extra time varies between the different airports. See the information about drop-in parking on the airport's parking page.
What should I do if I have to leave the vehicle longer?
Your vehicle may remain parked for up to 30 days after the scheduled exit time, but you must pay for the additional parking time.
If you cannot get the vehicle within 30 days, you must notify the parking operator. Provide:
- license plate number
- airport and parking area
- booking reference number
- when you expect to pick up the vehicle
- name, phone number, and email address
Vehicles left after 30 days without notice may be considered abandoned, and towed away at the owner's expense.
What should I do if I park in the wrong parking area?
Contact the parking operator as soon as possible. If you park in an area other than the one you booked, the parking may not be linked to the booking. You may then be charged the current drop-in rate, in addition to the amount you have already paid.
Refunds will normally not be given for parking in the wrong area.
Parking areas, accessible parking, and charging
Where can I park when I have a booking?

If you have not pre-booked (drop-in parking), you may be directed to the next available parking area.
What should I do if I park in the wrong area?
Contact the parking operator as soon as possible. If you park in an area other than the one you booked, the parking may not be linked to the booking. You may then be charged the regular price in addition to the amount you have already paid.
