Security checkpoint

You should feel safe when you are going to fly. That's why safety is our top priority. The security check goes more smoothly if you are prepared.

A man and a woman holding a small child stand at the security checkpoint, placing their belongings in gray bins that are sent off. They are happy and smile at each other.

    Useful information

    1. Before you reach the security checkpoint

Have the boarding pass ready for inspection. A valid boarding pass is: Boarding pass with a barcode from a check-in kiosk, counter, personal printout, or paperless boarding pass (bank/credit card or mobile phone)

    2. Put loose objects away

Place all loose items and metal objects (keys, coins, cell phones, etc.) in your carry-on luggage or outer garments before screening. All items should be placed in the bins, not directly on the conveyor belt (this also applies to clothes, bags, purses, etc.)

    3. Lithium batteries CANNOT be sent in checked baggage

In power banks, emergency chargers, mobile phones, tablets, and some PCs, you will often find lithium batteries. There is also lithium in some tools. No types of lithium batteries are allowed in checked baggage.

    4. Assistive devices and implants

If you use a wheelchair or have implants, the screening will be conducted manually. Passengers with pacemakers and implanted nerve stimulators should not go through the metal detector; instead, they will be screened using a hand search or a dedicated security scanner. Here, you have the right to be screened by someone of the same gender if you request it.

    5. Travelers in need of assistance

Children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who need assistance and are traveling alone can be accompanied by parents or other escorts through security control.

    6. Tax-free goods in a sealed bag

If you arrive at Oslo Airport or Bergen Airport and are traveling onward by plane, you need to ensure that your duty-free goods are sealed—otherwise, you might actually risk losing your items when you go through the security check again.
