Adopted noise regulation
On May 26, 2016, a revised noise regulation prepared by the Civil Aviation Authority came into effect for Oslo Airport. The purpose of the regulation is to avoid unnecessary noise burdens in the areas around OSL, while also considering safety, operational conditions, capacity, and other environmental factors. The regulation allows for the permanent use of curved approaches, where the routes are laid between densely populated areas. The regulation also specifies an adjusted departure corridor for departures from the airport's northeastern corner.
Thus, this is a very important foundational document for both Norway's main airport and the local community around the airport.
