Environmental management

Oslo Airport is to maintain ISO14001 certification and ACA certification at level 3+.

Environmental Policy and Management

To create a clear common direction in Avinor's environmental efforts, the corporate management has adopted a cross-company policy for the environment and social responsibility. This forms the framework for the environmental efforts at Oslo Airport.

Environmental management at Oslo Airport is an integrated part of the corporate management and leadership system, but with some local adaptations. We use environmental management methodically to take a comprehensive approach to environmental efforts both internally in the company and among other actors at the airports.

Since March 24, 2014, Oslo Airport has been certified according to the environmental standard ISO 14001 and has been part of a corporate-wide certificate since 2017.

Strict Requirements

To manage environmental efforts, it is necessary to have a continuous overview of the company's environmental impacts and regulatory environmental requirements. Particularly important framework conditions for airport operations are the concession requirements related to collective share and noise, the emission permit for water and soil from the Norwegian Environment Agency, and the Civil Aviation Authority's regulations on noise prevention.

Mapping of Environmental Impact

We have mapped the airport's environmental impacts. Avinor's identified significant environmental aspects are: chemical consumption, transport and climate, aircraft and helicopter noise, energy, procurement, construction and building projects, and the natural environment.
