Business to Business / Airlines

To sustain succesful partnerships with airlines, budget or otherwise, European airports need to offer long-term route viability, a strong cathment area and, of course, an impressive mix of facilities and services that ensure fast, efficient aircraft turnarounds and all-round customer satisfaction. All the right credentials are available at BGO. We expect the terminal to process five million passengers this year.

We cordially invite all airlines to take a fresh look at the opportunities that now exists for building successful route networks with our airport.

Bergen for business

Bergen today is the country`s most important export region in the energy, seafood and maritime sectors. It is also a premier choice for conventions and congresses. The counties at the west coast is where the norwegian raw oil is beeing produced. Hordaland County alone produces 80 percent of Norway`s raw oil export, thanks to producers like Statoil Hydro, which employs more than 3,000 people in Bergen, and a complete oil & gas supply chain. Bergen`s fish/seafood industry is equally impressive. Norway`s largest deep-sea fishing fleet is based at the city`s port and processes more than a million tons a year, for export around the world. The region`s dynamic maritime industry, meanwhile, focuses on shipbuilding and advanced marine technologies. Leading names include Star Shipping, Odfjell ASA, Framo Engineering and the Grieg Group. In the fishing sector, the major names are Lærøy Seafood and Marine Harvest.

The Bergen Chamber of Commerce and Industry's is very active and has taken an interest in the development of new routes.

Bergen for tourism

Bergen is "The Gateway to the Fjords". Tourists are comming to Bergen in record numbers. Prominent Travel Magazines awards the area with prices like "The worlds best sustainable travel destination" and Bergen has become a "prestige" tourist product. With factors like Fjords, spectacular scenery, year-round skiing, cultural riches etc, it is not difficult to sell the Bergen-package. The outbound market is at the same time full of travel - hungry Bergensers. The people of Bergen and its wider regions traditionally take long summer breaks as well as winter breaks to escape the cold winter. Holiday flights work both ways at Bergen.
